Which is the most important to you?

Assuming the absurd that it isn't the whole package, what is the one ingredient of a book that is the most important piece? Which would you chose: the story, the editing, the layout, the quality of the final product, the cover art, or something else?

  1. On first seeing a book, it has to be the cover. The cover persuades you to pick it up and open up. Yet by the end of the book, it is probably the least important.

  2. I agree - the cover and the title can capture me immediately. Then, the first page, and of course, what it's about. :)

By the way, I awarded you the Versatile BLogger award! Check out my blog to accept it!

  3. Hello Carrie. The cover can get me to buy a book, but the story is what gets me to read the whole book. I feel bad abandoning a book half read, but I can't force myself to finish a terrible read.

  4. Hello Nicole and welcome! Gosh, an award! Perfect timing -- long story, but trust that your award was perfectly timed. Now...I can't find your blog. Please post the link...or anyone else who wants to help me with it. Nicole, that was a very nice thing you did, and thank you for that.
